What shirts go best with khakis and solid black dress boots?

neutralitybias asked:
I wear khakis and Kenneth Cole Reaction dress boots (solid black). I typically wear dress shirts OR polo shirts (only solid colors and only button ups). I’m wondering what color of shirt would look striking with this combination. And if you happen to think black boots are a no-no with khakis, then go ahead and answer for wheat-brown since I also have timberlands - Just please make sure to clarify which color you’re commenting on. And thank you!
I wanted to mention that I’m 6′7”, white, and I have brown eyes and dark-brown hair (that looks black). Oh yes, and so far everyone sounds like fashion experts (i.e., they don’t agree) =)

I think that any color is cute, but I would say either black or red. Black would just be for something simple, and it would look really cute. and red would be to stand out…and make a statement.

Dark colors would be the best to go with khakis and your black boots. I think a solid white may work also but nothing like bright red, blue, green (like lime or yellow-green), or yellow. For polos you could probably do navy, black, brown, white, tan, and perhaps green. Colors like navy, maroon, green, will probably work better with brown shoes.
For dress shrits I think maroon, navy, black, white, beige, or green will work fine.
In general, I would just say to stick with the darker colors.

I love blue shirts with Khaki. It all depends also on your hair and eyes too. With the black boots (which is nice for indoor things like dinners and meetings and dates) it is more formal look. I woudl suggest a nice button up shirt but not a polo. A dress shirt for sure. A lighter color or possibly black. Not red or darsk other than black because the khaki will look odd. With the wheat-brown shoes—sound weird to me, but may do for a outside, comfortable, casual style. If it is casual, wear a light shirt for SURE> no blacks. Blues are my fav with any combo of khaki…always looks nice. My fiance wears khaki, black shoes, and a blue dress shirt for our wedding parties. Good luck.
Tip: Wear loafers with your khakis when the occasion is business casual. A rich brown shoe is a stylish contrast for most outfits. Choose black when wearing a black top and belt.

i wouldn’t be able ot tell you because you didn’t say what color the khakis were. I’m assuming that they’re probably black. Black would work with just about anything, it’s a neutral color =D. Sorry i wouldnt be able to help on the other colors
